The Gold Coast has been the popular choice for many Queensland schoolies since the 1970s.

Every year the Safer Schoolies Gold Coast Response is activated to enhance the safety of schoolies staying and partying in Surfers Paradise.

In 2023, the response will be activated from Saturday 18 to Friday 24 November.

The Safer Schoolies Gold Coast Response is for genuine 2023 Year 12 school leavers. The response includes a range of support services to help keep you safe, as well as your free Schoolies Hub wristband for nightly access to Schoolies Hub entertainment.

The Safer Schoolies Gold Coast Response is activated during the peak Schoolies period – the week that follows is sometimes referred to as ‘Week 2’. If you are visiting the Gold Coast after Friday 24 November 2023, make sure you check out our section on ‘Week 2’.
