    To help keep your Schoolies experience as safe as possible, a range of FREE support is provided for schoolies holidaying on the Gold Coast.

  • ‘Week 2’

    The Safer Schoolies Gold Coast Response is activated during the peak Schoolies period. The week that follows is sometimes referred to as ‘Week 2’.

  • Road closures

    Due to the temporary population increase in central Surfers Paradise during the Schoolies holiday period, road closures are needed to ensure the safety of all pedestrians.

The Schoolies Hub is a fenced, alcohol and drug-free entertainment precinct on the beach. With two stages providing nightly entertainment and a Chill Out Night on Tuesday 24 November.

The best part of all is that it’s FREE to attend – you just need your official Safer Schoolies wristband to gain entry. Oh, and the Schoolies Hub is only for genuine Year 12 school leavers – no toolies, droolies or moolies allowed.

How can I get in to the Schoolies Hub?

Entry is FREE. You just need your official Safer Schoolies wristband to gain entry as the Schoolies Hub is for genuine Year 12 school leavers only.

What’s happening at the Schoolies Hub?

Every night (Saturday 21 – Friday 27 November), from 7pm through to midnight, we’ll be featuring different DJ’s across two stages.

On Tuesday 24 November, the gates to the Hub still open from 7pm but we switch gears with our music and entertainment line-up for Chill Out Night.

Conditions of entry to the Schoolies Hub

When it comes to the Schoolies Hub, everyone has the right to feel safe and have a good time. Do your bit by following the below conditions of entry:

  • entry restricted to genuine Year 12 school leavers only
  • you must have an official Safer Schoolies wristband to gain access
  • no bags are allowed inside the Schoolies Hub*
  • smoking is not permitted, including the use of electronic cigarettes or similar devices
  • groping without consent is assault
  • moshing, circle pits and crowd surfing are not allowed
  • aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated.

*Clear plastic pouches will be available at the Wristband Centre – grab one when you get your official 2020 Safer Schoolies wristband.

These can be worn in the Schoolies Hub. As there are no cloak room facilities available, we strongly suggest you leave bags and valuables at your accommodation, in your car or at home.

Accessibility and the Schoolies Hub

All graduating Year 12 students are free to celebrate the end of their schooling in a safe and happy environment. We welcome schoolies requiring different accessibility needs to the Schoolies Hub. We have designated areas inside the Schoolies Hub that provide a comfortable area for schoolies to celebrate with their peers.

Parking options are available close to the Schoolies Hub entry for eligible patrons.
