When is the Schoolies Beach Hub open?

    The Schoolies Beach Hub is open nightly between 7pm and midnight from Saturday 16 – Friday 22 November 2024.

    The Schoolies Beach Hub is FREE entertainment for all genuine year 12 school leavers. We’re talking two stages with DJ’s, a silent disco, live bands and more!

    How do I get access to the Schoolies Beach Hub?

    The Schoolies Hub is for genuine 2024 Year 12 school leavers only. To gain entry, you must be wearing an official Schoolies Beach Hub wristband.

    Is the Safer Schoolies Beach Hub accessible?

    Yes. Access to the Safer Schoolies Beach Hub for Year 12 graduates living with accessibility requirements can be arranged and includes access to viewing areas, parking and carer accreditation.

    Can I take a bag into the Schoolies Hub?

    No. For the safety of everyone, no bags are allowed inside the Schoolies Beach Hub. You will be given a pouch for your phone and other important items when you collect your Schoolies Beach Hub wristband.

    We strongly suggest you leave your bags and valuable items at your accommodation.

    Note: Exceptions are made for medical devices and prescription medication.

    A small medical bag may be carried with you into the Schoolies Beach Hub for items such as EpiPens, asthma inhalers and other prescription medication.

    Is it true the beach party (Schoolies Beach Hub) has been moved up to the Spit?

    No. The Schoolies Beach Hub remains on the beach at Surfers Paradise - right at the end of Cavill Mall (check out our Safer Schoolies map (PDF, 202KB)

    The Schoolies Beach Hub is the only true beach party and is open every night from 7pm.

    Access to the Schoolies Hub is not linked to accommodation bookings. You do not need to purchase anything. All you need to do is register for your Schoolies Beach Hub wristband closer to Schoolies week.

    I’m staying at our family apartment in Surfers, can I access the Schoolies Beach Hub?

    Yes.

    If you are a genuine 2024 Year 12 school leaver, you can access the Schoolies Beach Hub with an official Schoolies Beach Hub wristband, no matter where you are staying.

    Registering for a Schoolies Beach Hub wristband is separate to any accommodation bookings made through commercial providers.

    This means you can access the Schoolies Beach Hub if you are staying in private accommodation (e.g. Airbnb, home, holiday home).

    During Schoolies, there are other parties and events, but these are separate to the Schoolies Beach Hub and are run by commercial providers. You will need to contact them for further information about ticket sales.

    Can I go to the Schoolies Beach Hub in 'Week 2'?

    No. The Schoolies Beach Hub is only activated during the peak Schoolies period (16–22 November 2024).

    If you are visiting the Gold Coast after 22 November 2024, please refer any enquiries to your booking agent or entertainment provider.

    Can I purchase a Schoolies Beach Hub wristband?

    No. Official Schoolies Beach Hub wristbands are free for genuine Year 12 school leavers attending Schoolies on the Gold Coast.

    You must register prior to Schoolies for your Schoolies Beach Hub wristband and show your registration confirmation email and 2024 Year 12 school photo ID to officials upon wristband collection.

    Where can I collect my official Schoolies Beach Hub wristband?

    For Schoolies on the Gold Coast, you can get your official Schoolies Beach Hub wristband from the Wristband Centre located on level 1 of the Bruce Bishop Car Park – 10 Beach Road, Surfers Paradise.

    Opening hours are:

    • 11am to 8pm – Saturday 16 November 2024
    • 6pm to 8pm – Sunday 17 November to Friday 22 November 2024.

    Schoolies Hub wristbands will not be mailed to you – they must be collected in person.

    Official Schoolies Beach Hub wristbands are only issued to schoolies during opening hours. If you cannot attend during these hours, you will have to wait until the following night to access the Wristband Centre.

    I need to take my Schoolies Beach Hub wristband off for work. Can I get another one?

    Repeat wristbands will only be handed out in exceptional circumstances. You will need to bring the original wristband back to the wristband centre to be allocated a new one.

    If you DO NOT bring your original wristband, you WILL NOT be given another one and will lose access to the Schoolies Beach Hub.

    Can I collect a Schoolies Beach Hub wristband for my friend/teen?

    No. Schoolies Beach Hub wristbands cannot be collected on behalf of someone else.

    My school ID doesn’t have a photo – how can I get my official Schoolies Beach Hub wristband?

    As well as your high school ID, you will also need to bring your driver’s licence or passport to the Wristband Centre as photographic proof.

    My school ID doesn’t have my year level – how can I get my official Schoolies Beach Hub wristband?

    You will need to ask your school for a letter (on official school letterhead) confirming that you are a 2024 Year 12 school leaver. Make sure you bring both the letter and your school photographic ID to the Wristband Centre.

    I don’t have a Year 12 photo ID at all. Can I still get an official Schoolies Hub wristband?

    You will need to do BOTH of the following:

    1. Prove you graduated year 12 in 2024. This can be your graduation certificate or with a letter from your school (on official letterhead). Photos of your school formal WILL NOT be accepted.
    2. Prove your identity using photo ID like a license or passport.

    Register for your wristband and bring both to the Wristband Centre to collect your Schoolies Beach Hub Wristband.

    Do I get a Schoolies Beach Hub wristband with my accommodation booking?

    No. Schoolies Beach Hub wristbands are not associated with accommodation bookings.

    Can I use my hotel lanyard to get into the beach party (Schoolies Beach Hub)?

    All you need to do is register prior to Schoolies for your Schoolies Beach Hub wristband and show your registration email and 2024 Year 12 school photo ID to officials upon wristband collection. Registration is free.

    I left school before Year 12, but I’m still coming to Schoolies on the Gold Coast. Can I get an official Schoolies Beach Hub wristband?

    If you left school prior to completing Year 12, the ONLY way you can access an official Schoolies Hub wristband is if you are still studying. For example, you must still be participating in other Australian education pathways e.g. TAFE or a registered apprentice AND you must be able to prove that you would have graduated Year 12 this year.

    You will need to do ALL of the following:

    1. Provide a letter signed by your Australian Registered Training Organisation (on company letterhead) stating that you are registered as an apprentice or attending TAFE.
    2. Prove you would have graduated year 12 in 2024. This can be your most recent student ID, or a letter from your previous high school on official letterhead.
    3. Prove your identity using photo ID like a license or passport.

    Register for a wristband and bring these to the Wristband Centre to collect your Schoolies Beach Hub Wristband.

    I am home-schooled and don’t have a current Year 12 school ID. How can I get a Schoolies Beach Hub wristband?

    If you are home-schooled, you must provide a letter either from your state’s Department of Education and Training (on Government letterhead) or from your home-schooling network that states you are a current Year 12 school leaver. This letter and an official photographic ID (e.g. drivers licence or passport) must be brought with you to the Wristband Centre.

    I’m only coming to Schoolies for a few days. Can I give my Schoolies Beach Hub wristband to someone else?

    No. They are not transferable.

    Every Schoolies Beach Hub wristband includes an ID chip that is unique to you and contains your information.

    Wristbands that have been damaged or tampered with are void. Security will be checking.

    Can I book my accommodation through this website?

    No – we do not sell accommodation packages or promote Schoolies.

    We are the Safer Schoolies team and work in partnership with nine Queensland Government agencies including Queensland Police Service, Queensland Health and Queensland Ambulance Service; the City of Gold Coast and seven community partners.

    I am no longer coming to the Gold Coast and want my deposit back. Can you help?

    We don't promote Schoolies or sell Schoolies accommodation packages.

    Unfortunately, we have no control over commercial booking agent’s refund policies or terms and conditions.

    All enquiries regarding accommodation bookings need to be directed to your Schoolies accommodation booking provider, e.g. Schoolies.com.

    If you believe you’re entitled to a refund but haven’t been able to resolve the matter with your Schoolies accommodation provider, you can lodge an official complaint with the Office of Fair Trading.

    Our hotel won't give us our bond back – can you help?

    No – we suggest you check out our information on damage control in the Rights and responsibilities section of our site. If you have exhausted all options, contact the Office of Fair Trading on 13 QGOV (13 74 68) for advice or to lodge a formal written complaint if you feel you have been unfairly treated.
