The end of Year 12 is in sight for both you and your students. You’re looking forward to a well-earned break, and as for your students, some of them are looking forward to (yes, you guessed it)… Schoolies!

You’ve done all the hard work preparing your students academically for their lives ahead. The resources and information contained within this section can assist you in providing them with the information they need to safely navigate the Schoolies celebration period. Not only that, but our tips and resources will give all students (regardless of whether they intend on participating in the Schoolies phenomenon or not) tools to help them navigate the next chapter of their lives as young adults.

Whether it’s a free visit from the Safer Schoolies education team, useful links or relevant material to start a class discussion that you’re looking for, we’re here to help.

The Gold Coast has been the chosen destination for many Queensland high school graduates since the 1970s.
The Queensland Government’s Safer Schoolies team operates a safety response for the first week of Schoolies each year, focused on enhancing the safety of young people and decreasing risk taking behaviour.

The Safer Schoolies Gold Coast Response is free for legitimate Year 12 school leavers.
It includes wristbanding for legitimate Year 12 school leavers, providing nightly access to the drug and alcohol-free Schoolies Hub, where they can celebrate safely in the company of their peers.

In addition, the Response week features on the ground support provided by numerous government agencies and services, community and volunteer organisations.
